The
Staff at
La Fonda Oakhills
One of the most crucial elements to an enjoyable evening dining out is that the waitstaff who will be serving you be courteous, knowledgeable, and friendly. No matter how excellent the cuisine, being served by a bartender, waiter, or waitress who is inattentive or surly can ruin an otherwise pleasant meal. Each and every one of La Fonda's waitstaff takes pride in their professionalism and years of service. Come in and let us pamper you!
Henry
was a fixture at La Fonda from 1980 to 2006. His favorite dishes were the chicken con
queso and the Aztec shrimp. Many, many customers asked to be seated at one of Henry's
tables, and he'd like to let all of them know just how much he appreciated their loyalty,
and values the friendships he's made here over the years. After a long stay in the hospital and several operations, Henry is back as a host on weekends to greet you, and bless us with his presence. |

Cecelia is the cashier you'll find behind the front desk at lunchtime. She's originally from California and has been at La Fonda for a few years now. Her favorite dish is the Baja Fish Tacos, and when not working at La Fonda, she loves to play Bingo, and spending time with her nieces and nephews. |
Judy has worked in the past at La Fonda as one of your servers. She now toils "behind the scenes" at La Fonda's grill station preparing your meals. She's a single mom of three, originally from Mexico City's Distritro Federale |
Mirna's a relatively new face at La Fonda. She'll take great care of y'all! |
Jeff is the webmaster who brings you the La Fonda website. In January he had to relocate temporarily to Massachusetts to care for a elderly parent. This meant he had to give up his job as one of La Fonda's bartenders. He hopes to be able to return to San Antonio this Fall. Need a website for your business? - Visit www.sitemeup.com to see some examples of Jeff's work. |
Netty is one of the first people you'll see upon entering most evenings She'll be escorting you to your table. |
Richard is a favorite of many long-time La Fonda customers. He's been here since 1968! His favorite menu item is the skirt steak, and when away from La Fonda his passion is dancing! His expertise has to be seen to be believed. If you're at La Fonda when there is a mariachi present, try to convince him to "step out". You'll be impressed, I guarantee it. |
Ms. Jane has been with the restaurant since 1982. She always has a smile for everyone! She'll tell you to try the shrimp enchiladas. *** There in Jane's left hand is some of La Fonda's "Monday Sauce", a rich, dark, smokey salsa served (when else?) only on Monday evenings. |
Maria was at La Fonda Oakhills since August of 1984. If you are a longtime customer, you'll recognise her photo. When you leave, her's was the smiling face telling you: "Thanks for visiting us! Please come back soon" Maria has seven children, fifteen grandchildren, and "Nuff said" about her time at home. Maria retired in 2009. |
Virginia has been at La Fonda since 1998. She's a San Antonio native. Her favorite dishes at La Fonda are shrimp fajitas and shrimp enchiladas. She's the mother of three boys - ages 8, 10, and 16. In addition to the daunting task of raising three children, she still manages to find time to teach each week at the Christian Church's Eagles Nest Sunday school. |
You'll find Ken behind the bar from Thursday till Monday. If you ask him, he'll say "Try the skirt steak". It's his favorite. |
Rosa has been at La Fonda since 1982. She's "from here". Her favorite dish at La Fonda is the enchilada plate. When she's at home, she spends her free time just relaxing, and most of all, enjoying her grandchildren. |
