Dear Mr Berry:

  Just wanted to let you know that I treated my aunt and cousin to a meal at your Oak Hills location on Saturday, April 14, and we totally enjoyed it! None of us had ever been to La Fonda, but I had purchased some gift certificates online from Q101.9 because I like to try out new restaurants.

The food was awesome and our waiter totally attentive. The place is lovely. I felt like I was sitting in a restaurant in Mexico instead of San Antonio. I know that we will definitely be back in the future and will introduce the rest of the family to the La Fonda experience.

The only drawback is that I live in the Austin area, so I won't be able to visit nearly as often as I would like!! Hopefully my family will take advantage and visit without me!

  A note, to let you know what a wonderful way of you to reward students for their straight A's report card with dinner! I had received the coupon in the mail, and with my daughter's report card went to your restaurant on Feb. 27, 2007, along with her grandparents. We were expecting a very limited menu, but to our surprise there were no limits and our soft drinks were included as well! The food and service was great, it had been years since we ate there, and we will definitely be back. My daughter was very happy to know it was her good grades that provided us with this enjoyable meal. I am proud of my 6th grader, and La Fonda who recognizes the efforts of our students.

  It's so nice to see a personalised website displaying the uniqueness of a local business, especially in San Antonio. I love the descriptions of your staff and the overall look of the site. Whatever you are paying for the site, it could never be enough when compared to how generic other sites are. Much "props", in fact I'm going there for the first time tomorrow. It's my bro's birthday, and we love trying out different place. Chains are boring and mindless for the most part, Okay, I didn't mean to go so far, but keep up the great website. Those who know really appreciate it!

  On behalf of our Board of Directors and our staff, I want to take this opportunity to express our gratitude for your generous offer to comp the cost of the dinner that we had Tuesday evening in your warm and welcoming restaurant. The food was delicious, and your staff was wonderful.

  I would like to take this opportunity to express my heartfelt thanks for a job well done by you and your staff. Our stall luncheon this year was by far the best ever. Working with you was so easy and enjoyable. The food was absolutely delicious, and everyone was overwhelmed by the amount of food that was served. Many asked several times for the name and locattion of your restaurant. Every step of your catering process was excellent. The set-up and decorations, the plate presentation, and the efficiency with which the luncheon was executed were all flawless. Henry and Emelio were both gracious, friendly, professional, and a pleasure to work with. They made my job so much easier. I was so grateful to have their help. Our staff definitely felt loved and appreciated, which was our whole goal. La Fonda played a huge part in our success this year.


  I have been eating at La Fonda since I was a child. It has always been a family favorite. The service and food have always been excellent. That is why I chose La Fonda to cater our luncheon. You proved to be just as great in your catering. I will definitely use you again when I am catering an event, and would also definitely recommend you to others. Thank you again for a job well done. We were all so very pleased.

Dear Mr Berry:

  I just wanted to send a little note to say thank you so much for the excellent service that we received on the Marotta 50th. wedding anniversary that was held on Saturday, August 6th. My parents were very pleased with everything, and I have to say that everyone complimented on how delicious the food was, but in addition to that we had an extra bonus from the excellent service that we received from Chayo, Richard, and Rosie. Chayo, who was in charge, was always very cooperative, and always said with a smile "Sure, whatever you need, just tell me." Richard and Rosie made sure we had our drinks filled to the top, and if anyone asked for anything, they were on top of it. Honestly, this was the choice of my parents, and I have to admit that this was my first time to La Fonda, but I would definitely recommend your restaurant to any of my family or friends. My parents enjoyed themselves so much, and we all had such a lovely evening. Thanks again for all the great service you provide to your customers.

  I was an attendant at a rehearsal dinner this past Friday night, June 18th, 2005 (Williams-Aguilar) I wanted to let you know that I was thoroughly impressed with the facility, the food, and most of all, the service. The waitstaff was so helpful. We had planned for a "surprise slideshow", and Emilio in particular , was prepared and knowledgable. Every time I turned around, he was right there waiting with an extension cord, an extra table, even a dish to help prop up the projector! I didn't want him to think that his attention to detail went unnoticed. Thanks again for making the night so memorable, La Fonda! I'll definitely be back for some margaritas and cheese enchiladas the next time I'm in San Antonio.

  First of all - THANK YOU for being so kind and wonderful this morning when I called. I'm so glad you answered the phone and that I was able to talk with you. I thank you for taking care of my problem.

  I visited your website last night, and read about your staff, and all the kudos you receive from your customer's letters. Now I will add to that list. It's too bad I can't drive down tonight to have another fabulous meal. We'll be back soon. We've even told friends and family that it's well worth the drive from Austin just to dine with you.

Dear Mr Berry:

  I write to thank you and your wonderful staff for the great party they produced on Saturday May 14. When my wife, son, and I arrived to find another party in the private room, we had doubts about how everything would turn out. Once the other group departed, the wait staff did miracles.

  The delicious margaritas and beer as precursors got everyone off to a good start. After chips and salsa and time to visit, the staff put out the food, and the food was so good! Everyone had platefuls, and a good deal remained even though we had only one person who didn't come. The restaurant did not stint on the food. To our delight, there was food to bring home, and we enjoyed it Sunday for both lunch and dinner.

  Despite the pressure the staff must have felt and the undoubtably long day that they had spent, they were pleasant, fun, and professional. They could have not been more accomodating to people as we all asked for additional drinks, including water and iced tea. The staff made the party to a large extent, because they were so cheerful and helpful.

  Our family and friends had a wonderful time. Out son, whose college graduation we were celebrating, had a great time, and was so excited that everyone enjoyed themselves so much. One of his cousins asked aloud why he had not had such a nice party when he graduated. Another, looking ahead, said that he wanted the same party, at the same place, when he did graduate. Thank you all for such a wonderful time,

  The Brackenridge High School Class of 1948 held their 55th. reunion last Friday evening, June 25th, at La Fonda with 51 members attending. It was a great success in large part to the delicious food and the excellent service by Henry, Rosie, and Janie. Every request to these veteran servers was met with a smile and instant attention. They are certainly a credit to the success of La Fonda.

  I began my planning of this event by working with Donna this past November, and found her to be an excellent source of suggestions. Her attention to each detail assured the success of our party.

  For many years we have spent Sunday evenings enjoying Ken's margaritas and dinner with friends in your restaurant. Thanks again for making our party a great success!

Dear Mr. Berry,

  On a rainy night a few weeks ago, we were served a delicious dinner at La Fonda by a young man named Magnum. He was pleasant and efficient, but so much more than that: he renewed our faith in mankind.

  That night, after dinner, we gathered up our belongings and walked out with our friends, wraps, and "doggie bags", but didn't realize until we'd reached home that I'd left my purse behind.

  We rushed back to La Fonda in a panic, thinking, of course, "Identity Theft", but we were blessed that there are still people like Magnum who exemplify the words "decency, honor, and integrity." I thought it significant that he wears a beautiful gold star. He had found my purse under the table, put my name on it, and had it waiting for me at the front desk.

  We've alway thought of La Fonda as the best Mexican restaurant in San Antonio - Now for us it's the only one. We thought you'd like to know.

Dear Mr. Berry,

  I would like to express my gratitude and thanks to your staff for making our Bridal Shower Luncheon, which was held at La Fonda on Sunday, 19 Nov, such a special event.


  When my husband and I made the reservation with Veronica, she assured us that your staff would see to it that all of our needs were met. I went by and spoke with her on the day before the luncheon and I left with a feeling that I had nothing to worry about. When I arrived prior to the arrival of the guests, I was met by Veronica and Rene (our head waiter) who assured me that they would assist in making the luncheon a success. From that moment and until we left the restaurant, Rene was really "on top of things".


  As they left, the guests all remarked on how good the meal was, and that the service was great. Needless to say, the luncheon was a great success. Several people remarked that they didn't know about your party room, and that they were going to keep your restaurant in mind for their parties.


  Again, please express my thanks to all of your staff, especially Veronica and Rene, for a very special day.
